Record Removal FAQ's
Public data and publicly available information are exempt from the various state consumer privacy laws, so the rights outlined
there (such as the Right to Delete and the Right to Know) do not apply to our data. All the information available on our site is sourced
entirely from public records or publicly available information. We do provide the option to remove your information from our site as a
courtesy. To see what information we have on you, you need only perform a search for yourself on our site. Information on our data
sources and the categories of information we collect can be found in our Privacy Policy.
Once you have completed each step outlined above and receive confirmation that your removal request is being processed, you
can expect your information to be gone from our site within 3 days. It may be gone sooner, but sometimes it takes several days for our
servers to fully update.
We will let you know that your request is being processed when we receive it. You will also receive a confirmation email. Please
allow 3 days for our servers to refresh. After that, you can confirm your removal by first clearing your browser’s cache, and then
searching for yourself on our site. If you are still seeing your information on our site, you may need to submit another request, making
sure the information you put in the form matches the record. If our system can not match the information provided to a record, it will not
be removed.
Your record will no longer be visible on CyberBackgroundChecks. However, we can only remove information from our own site. All
of the information on our site is aggregated from different sources of public records and publicly available information, such as voter
records, phone directories, and property records. Removing your information from our site will not delete the original source of the
information. People may still be able to see your information on other websites and by searching government records.
